Oct 12 Update

I do hope many of you celebrated the weekend with family and friends as as Ben suggested, "you held them close."

Today I have better news. Yesterday the team started to wean Dennis off from the sedation and are attempting to wake him up. Even if it is for a short time. This is significantly ahead of the expectation the Doctor had on Sunday. His nurse last night said he is heading in the right direction. He has an amazing sense of direction practically and spiritually. He is finding his way home.

They were not able to wake him yesterday. That is predictable because he has been in this coma for days now. However, they will keep trying slowly with the goal to see how he can tolerate being intubated and allowing the machine to breath for him, while conscious.

As I followed the full 14 day quarantine, I am now able to go in and visit him. I am planning on doing that later this morning.

Abigail is feeling stronger and her quarantine ends today. I shall make my way there and hug her! And I shall speak into Dennis’s ear and tell him of the hundreds of friends and family who have been contending for him…for all of us.

Gratefully,

Katie
